Leicester promoted to the Premier League

Leicester City have been promoted to the Premier League after Leeds United were thumped by Queens Park Rangers on friday night. The 4-0 defeat at QPR means Leeds are now four points behind Championship leaders Leicester with only one game left. The Foxes are on track to amass 100 points on their way back to the top flight following their relegation last season. Leicester can now claim the Championship title on Monday with victory at Preston if third placed Ipswich fail to beat Hull City on Saturday.

Man United overcame an astonishing collapse to beat Coventry on penalties in an FA Cup classic on Sunday, setting up a second straight FA Cup final against Manchester City. Erik ten Hag’s men won the shootout at Wembley 4-2, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring the decisive spot kick after the teams were level at 3-3 after extratime. The game perfectly showed how terrible the season has been for Ten Hag’s men, who are well off the pace in the Premier League and had a Champions League campaign to forget.

The Three Lions of England suffered defeat against the Samba boys of Brazil on Saturday night, however, Gareth Southgate insists he was “pleased” with the team’s performance in their 1-0 defeat to Brazil, even though there were issues raised across the pitch. England were without a large part of their squad with Shaw, Trippier and Harry Kane missing out amongst others for the friendly and were beaten by a late finish from Endrick, leaving Southgate to pick out aspects of the game which encouraged him in his post match press conference.
