Manchester United are hoping to build on what was a very impressive debut season for manager Erik ten Hag which saw them finish third in the Premier League and claim their first silverware in over 6 years as they won the Carabao Cup. The Red Devils also reached the final of the FA Cup but were beaten by local rivals Manchester City, who equaled United’s 1998/99 record of winning the treble. So in the quest of strengthening the team in certain lagging areas, Manchester United have decided to sign Chelsea ace, Mason Mount on a £60m deal, Black Sports Live understands.

After several weeks of contemplation and rumors, Manchester United finally got to an agreement with Chelsea Football Club on the Mason Mount deal. The deal was completed for a total of £60m (£55m+£5m in addons), and the player will put pen on paper to sign a five year deal with an option of a sixth.

Mount had one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and was keen on a move to Old Trafford. United had three bids originally rejected by their Premier League rivals but the latest one had been left on the table – and that offer has now been accepted, and Mount will now travel to Manchester for a medical next week.

The Red Devils also confirmed on Friday that Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst have left the club. Both players arrived at Old Trafford on loan deals in January, however, it appears Sabitzer and Weghorst have not done enough to earn permanent moves. “In terms of incoming loans at United, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst are due to return to Bayern Munich and Burnley, respectively,” an official club statement read in part.

Weghorst, who was loaned from Burnley, played 31 times for United and managed just two goals. Sabitzer also scored a brace against Sevilla in the Europa League and had a decent spell, but will now return to Bayern Munich.
