Earlier in the week, A blockbuster trade was made between The Phoenix Suns and the Washington Wizards in which the key pieces were Bradley Beal and Chris Paul. From the Onset of the trade, it was obvious that the 38-year-old point guard would not spend a second playing for Washington. The Wizards were as quick to trade Chris Paul faster than the duration it will take Chris’s flight to approach Washington! CP3’s trade to the Warriors would have occurred earlier only that the finalization of Bradley Beal’s trade was to be concluded before The Wizards finalized anything with Chris Paul.

WINNERS AND LOSERS OF THE TRADE

  1. Chris Paul- Winner.

The 38 year old point guard is the most favored in this trade. At first leaving Phoenix for Wizards was disadvantageous to him finally claiming a ring, however the former Suns Point Guard hopes has been renewed just once again. Golden State is literally the best place for CP3. While the veteran Point guard may be experiencing reduced playing time, the impact Chris Paul can still make cannot be overemphasized especially in case of an absence of Steph Curry due to injury or any other reasons.

  1. JORDAN POOLE- LOSER FOR NOW.

The Wizards seem to be rebuilding and are looking to make a good playoff run, but winning a championship is not in the cards for DC anytime soon. The road to Jordan Poole next ring with the Wizards is definitely going to be a more bumpy road than the championship he won with Golden State. The 24-year-old point guard fell from grace during Game 1 of the warriors playoff series against the Lakers when Poole missed the Warriors game winning shot.

  1. Washington Wizards -Winners.

Chris Paul was of no importance to the Wizards roster. The only person that will be able to properly fill Bradley Beal shoes will definitely be Jordan Poole. The Wizards seems to be building a team that is looking very appealing for greater success in the NBA. Even if The Wizards decide to trade Poole, he will be of much value to them in the market with the returns of trading him.

  1. THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS- (LOSERS FOR NOW)

Jordan Poole is 24 years old, and was a major key in the Warriors success in the 2022 playoffs success. The Warriors would have been better off working things with Jordan Poole than acquiring a 38 year old Chris Paul. The Warriors did not consider a sustainable future, especially when most of the warriors players seem to have already played their prime years in the NBA. On the other hand, Golden State acquired the 2nd best point Guard in the NBA (after Steph Curry of course). The team has a higher chance of winning a championship this season with a more focused and veteran point guard -compared to Poole.
