After the Warriors experienced a devastating exit from the playoffs after a challenging six-game series against the Lakers. The question arises: were the Lakers truly a superior team? Well, perhaps not! The Warriors team just seemed a little bit too off.
As the offseason unfolds, it will reveal the future of the Warriors’ dynasty. Especially when we recognize that one man alone cannot carry the team. During the Western Conference Semifinals, Steph Curry stood as the sole performer, delivering exceptional performances in the final two games against the Lakers although it led to no avail in enabling the warriors in winning the series.
Until the recent playoff exit , I never doubted Klay Thompson’s position among the all-time greats. However, recent events during the playoffs have caused me to question Klay’s standing. Klay Thompson’s performance in the last playoffs left very much to be desired. The Warriors desperately needed him to contribute more, even if it meant scoring at least ten additional points in each game. Unfortunately, Thompson hit an all-time low, averaging 18.5 points per game.
The second flop in the Warriors roster was Jordan Poole struggled throughout the Lakers series, his woes began when he missed the potential game-winning shot in the first game of the playoff series against the Lakers.
Jordan Poole inefficiency is leading to blatant questions considering the future of his stay with the Warriors. Currently, there are trade rumors circulating, adding an element of uncertainty to the situation of Jordan Poole and even Andrew Wiggins.
There are also speculations regarding the potential trade of Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins to Boston in exchange for the talented 23-year-old, Jaylen Brown, and Malcolm Brogdon despite Poole and Wiggins signing significant contracts with the Warriors earlier this season. It raises the question of whether a new team should be built around the incredible talent of Steph Curry . Klay Thompson may also not be out of the trade rumors as well.
