Liverpool came back from two goals down to earn a point against Arsenal in one of the most entertaining Premier League matches of the season so far, but one of the main talking points was Robertson being elbowed by one of the assistant referees during the game. The incident, which occurred during the second half of the match, saw Robertson being elbowed by the referee, causing him to lose balance and fall to the ground. The incident has sparked a lot of reactions among football fans and experts alike, especially the fans of the Merseyside club.

Robertson, who is known for his aggressive style of play, had been involved in a couple of heated moments already during the match. This may have led to the referee becoming frustrated with him, leading to the elbow incident. However, whatever Robertson could have done doesn’t justify an elbow, as it is important for referees to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, and to avoid physical contact with players, which is strictly prohibited.

When the incident occurred, Robertson was raged, and we all understand why. He confronted the referee immediately and exchanged a few words with him. The referee, for his part, seemed to be trying to bypass the situation, but his actions only seemed to make things worse. It all ultimately resulted in both Robertson and the referee being booked, which only added more confusion to the heat of the moment. Many have questioned the referee’s professionalism towards the situation. Some even suggested for him to face disciplinary action for his error, because moving forward, the incident will affect Robertson and Liverpool as a team in one way or the other. On one hand, it could serve as a rallying cry for Liverpool, inspiring them to play even better and prove doubters wrong, and on the other, it could also have a negative impact on the team’s morale, especially if they feel that they were wronged by the referee. But in any case, it’s clear that the incident has left a lasting impression on both Robertson and Liverpool. The referee in question, Constantine Hatzidakis has said he’s ready for any action taken by the English FA concerning the situation.
