The Brooklyn Nets have for the last couple of weeks, have definitely been a team of surprises. Brooklyn Nets have made history by losing two all-star players in less than 3 days at the Middle of a Season. However the greatest Shock of the game is how The Nets youngster established his dominance in the game of Basketball.
When it comes to Cam Thomas 3 straight 40- points game, One might be quick to consider it fluke, although is it really Fluke? … First of all, ‘Shit ain’t always was funny’for the youngster right from his rookie years in Brooklyn. Cam Thomas has had difficulties in hiding his emotions from the unwillingness of the Coach to award him good minutes during games. Cam was always frowning during games and everyone understood why. It’s Understandable with new Head Coach Jacque Vaughn why Thomas wasn’t playing but with Steve Nash it was worse.
Fans could swear that Steve Nash had a particular kind of dislike for Cam. Nash was terrible with proper utilization of Brooklyn’s players anyway. Cam had always tried to prove his relevance,even as a rookie to Nash, any time he was given a decent amount of minutes. A very good example of Cam’s prowess was in his rookie year when he led the Brooklyn Nets from a 28 points deficit to beating the Knicks with an explosive 4th Quarter display.
It’s astonishing that Cam Thomas was even the 27th draft pick in the first place. Cam Thomas is world renowned basketball factory Oak Hill’s All Time Leading Scorer, All Time EYBL Leading Scorer, and the NCAA’s freshman leading scorer. Cam never deserved his position in the draft anyway. Looking at all other people in the Draft, Cam is looking like he will have a brighter NBA future than the majority of the Draft picks, and I believe he definitely will. The point with Cam is that he is in a good team with a good Coach who is ready to utilize Cam Playmaking ability.
THE KYRIE TRADE PROFITED CAM MORE THAN ANYONE THE ENTIRE NETS SQUAD.
Exploding with back to back 40 point games is Cam’s way of telling us that Kyrie leaving won’t affect the franchise at all. Players this season that have back to back 40 points games include the Games Superstars of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Damian Lillard and now Cam Thomas. Kyrie’s name is not even on the list. Cam is literally sitting among NBA all-stars in every ranking that’s possible.Cam is the youngest player since LeBron James to score back to back 40 points games.
Nets fans are so hyped about Cam, that they believe that Cam can break the All time Scoring record before LeBron James does. This is an absurd Joke, but if Cam keeps up at this pace, who knows whether Cam Thomas is literally the next face of the NBA?
Although Cam needs to harness his game a little bit more, Thomas’ game is expected to evolve even better as he will be getting more game time from the Brooklyn Nets.
Concerning the Brooklyn Nets, Can Cam lead the Brooklyn Nets to the Eastern Finals?
Yes .. Of course, with players like KD by his side. The 24(Cam Thomas)/7(Kevin Durant) match up will be a dangerous one to see.
Brooklyn also has a choice of trading Durant for solid depth players. Rumors are speculating concerning Durant going to the suns. Imagine Ayton and Mikal Bridges playing alongside Cam. Not to forget the presence of Dorian Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie who were acquired from the trade swap with Dallas for Kyrie.
Brooklyn is currently in 5th place. A playoff matchup against the 4th placed Cavaliers would be a great watch.
