Chelsea ace Hakim Ziyech appears to have failed to secure a deadline-day exit from the club, despite an agreement to join PSG on loan for the rest of the season. The winger has long been touted with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Todd Boehly granting that wish this month. The plan was to let Hakim Ziyech go on a 6-month loan till the end of the season, and then decide his future, depending on how successful the loan deal turns out, but it all turned out to end disastrously due to what Chelsea camp described as a “technical issue”

The French club is said to be reportedly angry with Chelsea for delaying the documents, claiming they were overly focused on the Enzo deal and didn’t pay attention to Ziyech. The feeling within Chelsea is that the documents were not incorrectly filled out, and that they sent the initial paperwork on time, but that later some signed papers failed to send due to “unforeseen technical issues” which meant the 11 pm deadline was missed. Ziyech was left stranded in Paris after traveling to complete the move, although French football’s governing body had to meet on Wednesday morning to consider the approval of the deal since the forms were eventually sent. It now appears, however, that the 29-year-old Moroccan international will have to complete the season at Chelsea.

The Moroccan international has struggled to fit into the side since signing under Frank Lampard from Ajax, though bright sparks at the World Cup and the club season thereafter have shown his ability. The recent form didn’t appear to be enough to be in the plans for the club over the coming season as the new owners look to create their ideal squad.
