Messi finally won the World Cup title he had been seeking for years with Argentina after they beat France 4-2 on penalties following a thrilling 3-3 draw. The Argentine scored twice and scored a penalty as well in the shootout to lead his country to World Cup glory. Mbappe, on the other hand, was part of the French team that lost to Argentina. Despite bagging a hat trick, it wasn’t enough to grant them a second World Cup title in a row.

There is a lot of speculation from the sports world as to how the two stars will fare on their return to the team. Mbappe reported back for PSG and featured against Strasbourg on Wednesday, scoring a last minute winner in a 2-1 victory. The youngster is said to be “very disappointed” but is back at PSG, and hungry for goals. Messi hasn’t reported to duty for now, as he’s still enjoying his World Cup win in his native Argentina. When asked about the relationship between those two, Christopher Galtier, the PSG head coach said “There is no reason to mix everything up in the relationship between both of them. Kylian has a very good attitude having lost the World Cup. When you lose a World Cup final, you have a reason to be very, very disappointed. He was very disappointed, but he knew how to go on and behave, and had a lot of class to congratulate Leo and that’s very good for the club and for the team.” Messi will return to PSG at the beginning of January, Galtier said on Tuesday. By the looks of the comment from PSG’s head man in charge Les Parisiens will have nothing to worry about as Mbappe’s professionalism will quelch and simmering tension between the two Megastars.
